Re-enactment

Re-enactment

Historical reenactments (or re-enactment) is an educational or entertainment activity in which mainly amateur hobbyists and history enthusiasts dress in historic uniforms or costumes and follow a plan to recreate aspects of a historical event or period [Wikipedia].

I am part of several re-enactment groups, as a costumer and rider (and dancer)! Their details are below. Do get in contact with these groups if you’d like to join in!

Worcestershire Cavalry is a re-enactment and Display Ride team who also provide horse transport and breakdown rescue services.

The group offers historical eras from Normal through to World War 1, with ridden skill at arms and combat demonstrations. The group also does drill rides to music.

I have been a part of Worcestershire Cavalry since March 2023.

Vale Islanders

The Vale Islanders is a group of dancers and musicians who perform Playford English country dances of the Seventeenth Century in the costume of the period.

The group started in the village of Charney Basset in the Autumn of 1995 and we gave our first public performance on May Day 1996 on the village green.

I have been dancing with the group since June 2022.

Order of the Pegasus

The Order of the Pegasus is a 14th – 16th century ridden display group providing Skill at Arms and Hunting Games demonstrations, and ridden parade presence. Several members have taken part in ridden battle re-enactments.

I have been a part of the group since March 2017. The group is on a hiatus at the moment.
